Learning and teaching

Here you will find information on the courses offered by the Medieval and Early Modern History and Comparative Regional History section of the JGU Department of History and in the specific field of Regional History as part of the History M.A. degree program.
The course subjects primarily focus on topics from the Late Middle Ages. We offer a broad thematic introduction to the Middle Ages in the form of basic and advanced modules on the medieval period and regional history that deal with European and imperial history to regional and local history, while the history of politics, society, culture, and religion are also taken into account. Advanced colloquium-like seminars provide students with the opportunity to present their theses or discuss current research topics. There are also special course events, such as multi-day excursions and writing workshops. Studium und Lehre
